"This is our adults' night out." The organizers of the 5th Annual Stangl Witch Walk & Moon Market say it outright in their 2026 event listing, and the line explains how Flemington's Halloween is laid out this year.
On September 21, 2026, the Borough announced a three-night schedule. Thursday is for young children at Court Street Park, Friday is for adults on Stangl Road, and Saturday is for families going door to door across the borough. Each night has its own location, its own hours and its own crowd. Taken together, they show a borough that now hosts Halloween in three separate places.
The Kids Costume Parade and Contest runs from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Court Street Park. The Borough says plainly that this is a return: "The ghosts of Flemington called for the return of the Kids Costume Parade—and we listened!"
The Borough doesn't say when the parade last ran. The most recent public record we found is from the minutes of the October 2023 Borough Council meeting, which list a costume parade for October 26, 2023. No public explanation has been given for why it stopped. This year's program includes a DJ, trick-or-treating, a costume contest judged by community members, a photo booth, and prizes and giveaways. You don't have to preregister, but the Borough "strongly encourages" it, and that is the one step worth taking ahead of time if you have a child who has been planning a costume since August.
A two-hour window on a Thursday is short. With dark falling early at the end of October and a judged contest on the schedule, families with young kids should plan to get there near the start.
The adult night is the 5th Anniversary Stangl Witch Walk, themed this year as "The Haunted Carnival," running 5 to 10 p.m. on Stangl Road. The organizers' listing gives the most detailed picture of the night:
The listing also says local shops will stay open late, so the event works as a shopping night as well as a costume party. No admission price for 2026 has been published. The 2025 edition was listed as free, but don't assume the same until the organizers confirm it.
Five years is long enough to see how the event has changed. The 2023 edition, advertised as the "2nd Annual Witch Walk," had a group witch dance led by Rogers Dance Academy, a haunted maze that raised money for StarThrower Group, and an "Open Cauldron" for beer and spirits. In 2025, the fourth year, the listing named Love Flemington as organizer and promoted an "Authentic German Witches Dance," a haunted house, food trucks, costume contests and the Moon Market. TAPinto Flemington/Raritan covered that year with a photo gallery.
This year's theme is the Haunted Carnival, and the organizers write that "all of Stangl transforms" for the Haunted Carnival.
Stangl Road works for this because it was built as a destination. The factory building went up in 1924 for Fulper Pottery. That pottery line in Flemington goes back to Samuel Hill in 1814. Production in Flemington ended in 1935. After that the building served as a factory outlet, and a Stangl pottery history says it stayed a popular stop until the company closed in 1978.
In 2011, new owners proposed turning the 19,000-square-foot factory at Stangl Road and Mine Street into an artisan village with shops. The street now has the kind of mix that can support an evening event. Lone Eagle Brewing lists its address as 44 Stangl Road. Within Spirit runs its shop and workshops nearby, and the 2025 Moon Market was held at 37 Stangl Road. Flemington DIY says it moved into Stangl's Arts and Cultural District in 2022. The Witch Walk's own numbering, "2nd Annual" in 2023 and fourth in 2025, places its first year at 2022 as well.
A brewery, a market host, an arts nonprofit and a historic factory all sit on one short street. That lets organizers close off a single block and run a five-hour adult night without taking over downtown, which is a big part of why Friday can be so different from the other two nights.
Trick-or-treating runs from 4 to 8 p.m. throughout Flemington Borough. From 5 to 8 p.m., the Flemington Police Department will close two stretches the Borough calls its busiest trick-or-treating areas:
The closures start an hour after trick-or-treating begins, so between 4 and 5 p.m. those streets are still open to traffic. If you live on or near either stretch, plan to move your car before 5 p.m. or expect to wait until 8 p.m. If you're driving through the borough that evening, use other streets around Broad and Bonnell during those three hours.

The October calendar starts two weeks earlier with a different setup. On Saturday and Sunday, October 17 and 18, the Borough holds its Townwide Yard Sale Weekend from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. No permit or registration is required. If you want your sale included in the Borough's advertising, email the clerk at [email protected] with your address, the days you're participating and your hours. That same Saturday morning, the Plein Air Flemington Quick Draw has artists checking in between 8 and 9 a.m. at the Hunterdon County Chamber of Commerce at 119 Main St. The event is organized by ArtVenture Flemington. Artists paint anywhere in Flemington or the surrounding area from 9 a.m. to noon, turn in their framed work by 12:30 p.m., and awards are given at 1 p.m.
On October 17 and 18 the whole borough is one venue open to everyone. For Halloween, Flemington splits things up, with Court Street Park for the youngest kids, Stangl Road for adults and the residential blocks for families on Saturday night.
